Le prestigieux Fourreur parisien, Revillon, lance ses premiers parfums en 1935. En 1948, il s'adresse à Fernand Léger pour la réalisation du flacon qui abritera exclusivement le parfum Cantilène, une édition limitée très représentative de l'oeuvre du peintre-sculpteur. On reconnait dans la forme du flacon Cantilène la "patte" du sculpteur, et dans l'étiquette en forme de lyre son goût pour la poésie. Le moulé pressé du flacon laisse rêveur et reste ouvert à l'imagination de tous de par sa forme asymétrique si étrange.
The prestigious Parisian furrier Revillon launched his first perfumes in 1935. In 1948 he asked Fernand Léger to design the bottle that would exclusively house the perfume Cantilène, a limited edition very representative of the painter-sculptor's work. One recognizes in the shape of the Cantilene bottle the "paw" of the sculptor, and in the lyre-shaped label his taste for poetry. The moulded pressed of the bottle leaves dreamy and remains open to the imagination of all because of its asymmetrical shape.

Fernand Léger est un peintre français, d'origine normande, créateur de cartons de tapisseries et de vitraux, décorateur, céramiste, sculpteur, dessinateur et illustrateur. Sa seule création verrière connue est le flacon Cantilène pour Revillon.
Fernand Léger is a French painter, of Normandy origin, creator of tapestry and stained glass panels, decorator, ceramist, sculptor, draftsman and illustrator. His only known glass creation is the Cantilene bottle for Revillon.

Musée National Fernand-Léger à Biot inauguré en 1960
Peu avant sa mort survenue en 1955, Fernand Léger avait acquis une propriété, nommée le mas Saint-André, à proximité de Biot dans les Alpes Maritimes avec le projet d'installer des sculptures polychromes en céramique dans le parc. Après sa mort, sa femme Nadia Léger et Georges Bauquier, assistant et ami de Léger, décident de construire dans la propriété un musée destiné à présenter l'œuvre de l'artiste.
Le bâtiment intègre sur sa façade sud une mosaïque monumentale. Au début, le musée est privé. Il appartient à Nadia Léger et Georges Bauquier qui présentent leur collection d'œuvres de Léger. Il s'agit du plus important rassemblement d'œuvres de l'artiste au monde. Des peintures, dessins, céramiques, bronzes et tapisseries constituent les collections permanentes du musée.
En 1967 les fondateurs font une donation, à l'État français, du musée avec ses 348 œuvres. Les collections du musée sont étoffées par des œuvres provenant directement de la collection privée que possèdent encore Nadia Léger et Georges Bauquier, qui sont aussi directeurs à vie du musée Fernand Léger. Nadia Léger meurt en 1982 et Bauquier se retire de la direction du musée en 1993.
Shortly before his death in 1955, Fernand Léger had acquired a property, named the Mas Saint-André, near Biot in the Alpes Maritimes with the project of installing polychrome ceramic sculptures in the park. After his death, his wife Nadia Léger and Georges Bauquier, Léger's assistant and friend, decided to build a museum on the property to display the artist's work.
The building integrates a monumental mosaic on its south façade. At the beginning, the museum was private. It belongs to Nadia Léger and Georges Bauquier who present their collection of works by Léger. It is the largest collection of works of the artist in the world. Paintings, drawings, ceramics, bronzes and tapestries make up the museum's permanent collections.
In 1967 the founders donated the museum with its 348 works to the French State. The museum's collections are enriched by works coming directly from the private collection still owned by Nadia Léger and Georges Bauquier, who are also lifetime directors of the Fernand Léger Museum. Nadia Léger died in 1982 and Bauquier retired from the museum in 1993.
