PERFUME BOTTLE AUCTION IX
THE PERFUMS OF ELIZABETH ARDEN
Monsen and Baer Inc. is an American auction house that held its first sale in 1991 in Illinois, and then each year in a new state. Monsen & Baer's sales took place during the IPBA Congress, which brought together members from around the world, particularly from Europe and France. Between 1991 and 1995, the catalogs were in softcover. It wasn't until 1996 that the hardcover edition was released. The collection ended in 2008, with the passing of Randall B. Monsen; this was the 18th sale. This collection of books includes a rich iconography of bottles, particularly from European master glassmakers: Baccarat, R. Lalique, J. Viard, Daillet, Hamm... Czech glassmakers, as well as articles on renowned perfume houses. Bottles that have become very rare are featured in these pages.
